The Strands Hotel and The Screes Inn, Pub, Brewery and Distillery is where comfort meets adventure. The business has recently been taken on by Dave Keeler who has a history of working at the Strands when his godmother Mary ran it in the 80's and he is thrilled to call Nether Wasdale his new home.
Enjoy a warm atmosphere, delicious food and handcrafted beverages made on site. Whether you are here to relax in our cozy hotel and inn, savour a pint at the pub or experience our unique brewery and distillery we invite you to experience the best of hospitality. We have over 20 rooms to stay in a Pub at The Strands and The Screes and our own Brewery and Disillary where our brewar Dan creates a selection of Ales and will be releasing a new gin this summer.
The Strands Hotel is a local gem of Nether Wasdale. People come to enjoy time witth friends, hike the fells, swim in Wastwater Lake or enjoy the many walking trails close by. The Strands is more than just a night away but an opportunity to embrace the community spirit.
We would be pleased to share our many local hikes, provide tips for hiking up Scalfell Pike and guide you to beautiful waterfalls and hidden lakes.

All bookings include a fully cooked breakfast between 7am-9am. Guest check in times from 3pm - 9pm and scheduled check outs by 10am. (Please make arrangments in advance if you will be a late arrival) Room capacity single, double and maximum of 3 people in the family rooms.
